ESF Curriculum - International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme

Founded in 1968, the International Baccalaureate® (IB) is a non-profit educational foundation offering four highly respected programmes of international education that develop the intellectual, personal, emotional and social skills needed to live, learn and work in a rapidly globalising world. IB has authorised some 4,775 schools worldwide to teach their three specialist programs which cater for primary, high school and senior high school students.

Clearwater Bay School was authorised as an IB World School to offer the Primary Years Program (PYP) in April 2009. In 2018 the school undertook a joint IBO and Council of International Schools (CIS) evaluation and accreditation process and visit. As a result the school was successfully reauthorized as an IB World School. A new five year school plan has been developed to ensure the school continues to build on and extend its successes, through to the next evaluation.

As an accredited IB World School the Principal, PYP Coordinator and teaching staff are required to undertake IBO training and attend workshops and a range of other professional learning activities to ensure that teaching, learning and curriculum are up to date with current international best practice.
