Cahoot VLE
The Learning Technology programme at Clearwater Bay School is designed to prepare students for a world where technology literacy and associated skills are vital. We recognise that we are preparing students for a world which will be different from the one we live in today, and from the one which we as parents and educators grew up in. We believe that through the appropriate use of technology, students develop skills and approaches to learning which enable them to demonstrate the levels of technology literacy necessary for the future.
Cahoot is the name for Clearwater Bay School’s Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) which is an online area designed to support learning at home and at school.
If you are having problems logging into your child’s Cahoot account, you can follow the video below.
Helping Your Child with Technology
At Clearwater Bay School, students engage in creating, investigating, organizing, collaborating, and managing their use of technology, while also becoming responsible digital citizens. It's essential for children to learn how to use technology safely and appropriately.
We guide and support students in exploring technology within a safe environment, preparing them for their future roles as digital citizens. Parents can assist at home by helping their child log on to Cahoot and Google Drive, monitoring their technology usage, and encouraging their creativity. It's advisable for children not to have unsupervised access to technology, and parents should be cautious about allowing their children to sign up for social networks like Facebook if they are under 13.
Additionally, parents can introduce their children to educational tools and applications that are age-appropriate, helping them understand how technology works and its potential benefits and risks. This can include educational apps, interactive learning platforms, and supervised exploration of technology in everyday life. By fostering a balanced approach, parents can help their children become proficient and responsible users of technology.
